It was so good to see nearly 300 stakeholders who took time to join us for the Visit Wales marketing webinar held 17 October. Diolch.
A recording of the webinar, and other useful links from the session, are now available below.
We updated on:
- Recent and current marketing activity (consumer and travel trade)
- Our new industry facing website
- The National Tourism Awards for Wales 2025
We also shared our plans for Croeso 25 and talked about the flagship marketing campaign for Wales, Hwyl (the Welsh word for fun), which will be delivered under the umbrella of the themed year.
The Hwyl campaign will launch in January 2025 and focus on the feelings of fun and joy that you can experience “Only in Wales”. It will aim to:-
- Show unique, must-do things you can only experience in Wales.
- Bring things to life in a way that helps Wales stand out from the crowd and creates “talkability”.
- Build up Wales as a “bucket list” destination.
As well as TV/streaming, paid digital and media partnerships, a “Wall of Hwyl / Wal Hwyl” will feature on the Visit Wales homepage when the campaign launches in January 2025. The “wall” will be filled with moments of fun and joy – hwyl - throughout Wales and as the campaign rolls out, we’ll be asking visitors to tag us so that it features people having fun in Wales. User generated content (UGC) will populate the feed throughout the year, but to start i.e. at launch, Visit Wales will be using some of our own favourite hwyl filled posts.
If you would like your business or destination to be considered to feature as part of the Wall of Hwyl launch content, please email Croeso@gov.wales – all we need is a contact name, email and your business name, and then we will get in touch to let you know what kind of video or post we are looking for and help you with how to feature.
