About the survey

Statistics on overnight visitors are obtained from the Great Britain Tourism Survey. This is a weekly online survey of around 60,000 GB residents each year. The survey is managed jointly by Visit Wales, VisitEngland and VisitScotland. Estimates for 2022 and 2023 were revised in September 2024, following a methodological review of the series – for further details, please see the statement on the methodological review. Please read our Background Quality Reports for full details of the survey method and quality assurance measures.
